Literature Text

My skin, it is numb
My roof a tin drum
Blinded by flashes
Deafened by crashes

Rain in a rhythm
Calms with precision
My frantic heartbeat
It's soaked in the street

The lightning, it strikes
The ozone it bites
Relieving the dark
Iridescent spark

The thunder, it breaks
The sky and it aches
So loud the ground shakes
Scared, you hide and quake

But I am in love
With the sounds up above
Thunderstorms, my song
I feel like I belong

Heaven-splitting lullabies
May you never stop your song
That way I can close my eyes
For the first time in so long
I like thunderstorms :D

Not sure if I like the stanza about lightning and I wasn't really sure what category this would go under in the submission thing. But if you have any suggestions about the lightning part of it I'd like to hear.
