Heaven-Splitting LullabiesMy skin, it is numbMy roof a tin drumBlinded by flashesDeafened by crashesRain in a rhythmCalms with precisionMy frantic heartbeatIt's soaked in the streetThe lightning, it strikesThe ozone it bitesRelieving the darkIridescent sparkThe thunder, it breaksThe sky and it achesSo loud the ground shakesScared, you hide and quakeBut I am in loveWith the sounds up aboveThunderstorms, my songI feel like I belongHeaven-splitting lullabiesMay you never stop your songThat way I can close my eyesFor the first time in so long

BloodRed-part three"Linette!" Nyxie yelled bursting through the door."Nyxie!" I rushed towards her to give her a huge hug. In a few seconds she stepped back and smacked my arm."Hey, what was that for?!""For being here. Do you know how much danger you're in?""Hey, it wasn't my idea. It's Gran's fault." Gran gave me a sour look."Oh sorry Queen Charlevoix. I didn't realize you were here.""Relax Nyxie. You're a friend of the family, you call me Gran." Nyxie nodded nervously."So why did you bring Linette here?" she asked Gran."She is a vampire now, and she will be the next ruler. We thought she should meet and get used to the vampires.""But is it worth putting her in so much danger? Not that I'm questioning your judgment or anything like that." she said hurriedly. Gran just smiled."We believe she will be safe here.""Why didn't you just tell us? I am her bodyguard. I would have liked to know she was going to be here.""You're my bodyguard?" I said. Now that she said it, it did seem kind of obvious.
